Emmett Smith, Chief Executive Officer and Lead Master Plumber behind MPS, literally started in the trenches digging with a shovel, organizing the plumbing shop and van, and making sure the right tools and materials were available as a plumbers helper in 1999. As an eager learner he quickly became a plumbers’ apprentice, and in 2005 became a journeyman plumber while working on multiple facets of plumbing from custom homes and commercial projects; such as restaurants, shopping plazas, schools, doctors offices, utility installations, natural gas installation/repairs, etc.

In 2008 Emmett began working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a plumber at the Roybal Campus, eventually becoming an Electronic Tech III in charge of the bulk steam sterilizers maintenance and calibration in the Biosafety Level 4 Lab. During this time Emmett continued working in the plumbing field part-time for a plumbing service company gaining in-depth experience in providing plumbing service repairs, jetting, and water mitigation in residential homes, apartments and commercial buildings.

In 2015 Emmett decided to establish Mechanical Piping Solutions. He utilizes the knowledge acquired from over 20 years as a plumber at CDC and other plumbing experience where he gained knowledge about building maintenance processes, repairs, safety, hot water and chilled water recirculation systems, steam systems, and integrated systems such as sterilizers that incorporate control boards, water, steam, vacuum, electricity, air, hydraulics, solenoid valves, etc to complete the sterilization process. At that point Emmett decided that, “If it’s a fluid he can do it!” and wanted to spend his time sharing his passion for plumbing with those in need. With over 20 years of experience, Emmett is still an eager learner and for every plumbing problem there is a Solution.

Latrice Smith serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Mechanical Piping Solutions, LLC.

Latrice works closely with the estimating team to establish new relationships with general contractors and vendors, contracting drafting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Latrice has practiced as an attorney in Atlanta since 2010 focusing in healthcare, business, and contracts. Latrice’s experience includes an extensive background in residential real estate sales and construction. She has since expanded into commercial real estate where she represents medical office tenants and buyers.
